Wayne Michael "Mike" Linbrugger II was born on January 24, 1963, in Houston, Texas. Known as "Michael" to his family and "Mike" to his friends, he had a lifelong passion for working with his hands – from vintage automobiles to computer hardware. He took great pride in his classic Pontiacs, including two vintage Trans Ams and a Grand Prix, each reflecting his skill, creativity, and love for craftsmanship.
Michael delighted in life's simple pleasures. He embraced holidays and family traditions, from Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas to New Year's and Halloween celebrations. He loved the beach and treasured time with friends – particularly George and Robert Sandifer, brothers he met as a teenager, with George becoming like an older brother and lifelong companion. As a teen, Michael spent hours riding dirt bikes, swimming, playing pinball, cycling, and exploring the outdoors with friends.
A devoted fan of classic rock, Michael built an impressive collection of high-end audio equipment and vintage rock albums. Listening sessions with his father and friends were among his favorite moments, sharing music and conversation that highlighted the connections he cherished most.
Like his father, Michael had a tender heart for animals. He once cared for a pet turtle he returned to the wild, a small yet meaningful example of his thoughtfulness. He also adored his beloved Beagle, Elmer, a constant companion and loyal friend who misses him dearly.
Family memories were deeply important to Michael. Alongside his eldest sister, he modeled for Joske's department store in their "Fall – Back to School" runway shows. The siblings shared countless joyful moments playing tennis, ping pong, board games, boating, and water skiing.
Michael is survived by his mother and two sisters, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Michael will be remembered for his mechanical talents, his love of classic rock and vintage cars, and the contagious enthusiasm he brought to everything he did. He lived life with curiosity, passion, and a sense of adventure – and he always did it his way. Michael's life was full of stories, laughter, and friendships that touched everyone he met, and his memory will continue to be celebrated by all who knew him.
