Steven "Steve" Flournoy, 72, of Richmond, Virginia, passed away on July 11, 2026, due to complications from Parkinson's disease.
Steve was a man of deep faith who loved God wholeheartedly and sought to live a life that reflected his beliefs. He found joy in God's creation and spent countless hours hiking the Appalachian Trail, road biking, and taking adventures on his motorcycle. A gifted woodworker and builder, Steve loved creating things with his hands and was always happiest when working on a project. He also cherished the companionship of his animals and treasured every opportunity to spend time with his family.
Steve is survived by his two sons, Clayton Flournoy and Ryan Flournoy; his daughters-in-law, Nicole Flournoy and Rachel Flournoy; and his five beloved grandchildren, Lincoln, Sawyer, Harding, Mia, and Hazel Flournoy. He was a loving father, grandfather, and friend whose kindness, wisdom, and adventurous spirit touched the lives of many.
While his family and friends will miss him dearly, they find comfort in knowing that Steve is whole again, spending eternity in the presence of the Lord he loved so deeply. They can imagine him joyfully worshiping God—and perhaps even finding a woodworking shop in heaven.
Steve's legacy of faith, love for family, adventurous spirit, and craftsmanship will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of Steve's life will be held at Glen Allen Baptist Church on September 28, 2026. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to https://www.michaeljfox.org/ .
