It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Richard Zolton Gyuricza, a devoted father, proud grandfather, beloved brother, cherished uncle, and loyal friend. Richard’s life was defined by courage, selfless service, unwavering love for his family, and a commitment to living with honor and integrity.

Richard was the proud father of four sons and one daughter, who were the center of his world. No matter the occasion, he was always there cheering from the sidelines at every sporting event, offering encouragement, and leading by example. His children knew they could always count on his love, guidance, and support. He even volunteered as the equipment manager for his children’s little league football team, demonstrating that no role was too small when it came to supporting the people he loved.

Richard also found great joy in being a grandfather, brother, and uncle. He shared a close bond with his two older brothers, Larry and Jerry, and treasured the many memories they created together over the years.

A proud American, Richard honorably served his country in the Vietnam War. He was a disabled Army veteran whose bravery and sacrifice earned him the Purple Heart. His courage in the face of adversity reflected the strength of character he carried throughout his life.

Long before his military service, Richard excelled as a student and athlete. During high school, he was an outstanding competitor in football, basketball, and track and field. His classmates recognized his leadership by electing him student body president, a role that reflected the respect and admiration he earned from those around him.

Richard will be remembered as a man of honor, kindness, resilience, and unconditional love. He believed in showing up for the people he cared about, putting family first, and treating everyone with dignity and respect. His legacy is not only found in his accomplishments, but in the lives he touched and the values he passed on to those who knew him.

The love he gave so freely will continue to surround his children, grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know him, offering comfort in the days ahead and keeping his spirit close in their hearts.

Though he will be deeply missed, Richard’s greatest legacy lives on in the family he loved so dearly and in the countless memories they will carry with them always. As he entered the gates of Heaven, we find comfort in believing he was lovingly welcomed home by his beloved sons, Eric and Alec, his older brother Jerry, his parents, and the many cherished family members and dear friends who had the privilege of knowing him during this lifetime. May their joyful reunion bring peace to all who loved him.
