Phillip William Leeder

June 14, 1959 — March 9, 2026

Phillip William Leeder, born on June 14, 1959, in Beirut, Lebanon, passed away peacefully at his home in Houston, Texas on March 9, 2026. Surrounded by loved ones, Phillip lost his courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and an unfailing spirit of kindness.

Phillip was born to Robert and Josette Leeder, who instilled in him a strong work ethic and a deep sense of compassion that would define his life. A man of remarkable skill and passion, Phillip earned certification as an A&P, IA certified Airplane Mechanic. His love for airplanes was not just professional but deeply personal; he found tremendous joy in working on them, a passion that spoke to his meticulous nature and unwavering dedication.

He was much more than a mechanic—Phillip was a gifted fixer of all things. Whether it was repairing cars, lawn mowers, trucks, airplanes, or delving into computer programming, Phillip’s hands and heart were always busy restoring what was broken. His abilities extended beyond his talents; he was an extraordinary cook, delighting family and friends with his culinary gifts. His generosity was boundless, constantly offering a helping hand to others, whether it meant helping fix a neighbor’s car or lending his time and expertise to anyone in need.

Phillip’s personality was a beacon of light to those around him. He loved his family deeply, and that love was returned tenfold. His presence was always a source of warmth and happiness, making him a cherished member of every gathering. His spirit and enthusiasm brightened lives and created lasting memories for all who had the privilege to know him.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 16 years, Sandra Caine, who stood by him through life’s ups and downs with unwavering devotion. He leaves behind his children, Dakota Leeder and Matthew Leeder, who carry forward his legacy of strength and kindness. Phillip’s brothers — Marc Leeder of Salem, Oregon; Andre Leeder of Georgetown, Texas; and Claude Leeder of Houston, Texas — stand alongside many other relatives and countless friends whose lives he touched in many ways.

A visitation will be held on April 10, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed immediately by a memorial service from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Houston Memorial Chapel, located at 14503 Bammel North Houston Road, Houston, TX 77014. These moments offer an opportunity for family, friends, and all who knew Phillip to come together, honor his memory, and celebrate the remarkable life of a man who was always there to fix, nurture, and inspire.

Phillip William Leeder’s passing leaves a void that words cannot fully express. Yet, his life’s work—mending the broken, nurturing his loved ones, and sharing his joy—remains an enduring testament to a remarkable soul. Those who loved him will carry his spirit in their hearts forever, remembering a man whose life was a beautiful mosaic of care, genius, and boundless love.
