With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Michael Ford Young, age 66, who passed away from natural causes on September 30, 2026, in Houston, Harris County, Texas.
Michael lived a life filled with adventure, friendship, and an appreciation for the simple joys that make life meaningful. He was someone who found happiness in the great outdoors, the excitement of discovering new places, and the company of those he held dear.
From an early age, Michael had a love for adventure. As a child, he enjoyed playing baseball and hockey, hiking, and camping—pastimes that helped shape his lifelong appreciation for nature and the outdoors. As he grew older, that adventurous spirit never faded. He was a skilled electrician for many years. during his free time, he found joy in fishing, hunting, and traveling, with Guatemala holding a particularly special place in his heart. Everyone that knew and loved Mike knew he had a love for a good bottle of rum.
Throughout his life, Michael cherished the friendships he made along the way. He was fortunate to have wonderful friends who shared in his adventures, laughter, and memories. Among those he leaves behind are his dear friends Mike, Kenny, Reggie, Tanner, Gohar, Doug, and Keith, along with many others whose lives became part of his story.
Michael was preceded in death by his loving parents, George and Beverly Young, and his brother, Desmond Young.
He is survived by his sisters: Maureen Glendening and Denise Heinrich; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, other relatives and countless friends who will carry his memory forward.
While Michael's journey on this earth has come to an end, the memories he created will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His life reminds us that some of life's greatest treasures are not things we possess, but the places we explore, the friendships we nurture, and the moments we share.
May he now find peace beneath endless skies, beside quiet waters, and along beautiful paths where the spirit of adventure never ends.
Michael will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever a part of the lives he touched.
