Luisa M Castaneda, a beloved homemaker whose warmth & devotion deeply touched the lives of all who knew her, passed away peacefully at her home in Spring, Texas on June 12, 2026, in the presence of her Lord and Savior. Born August 22, 1929, in York Town, Texas, Luisa’s life was one of unwavering love, faith, and joyful spirit.
Throughout her years, Luisa dedicated herself to the care & nurturing of her family, a role she cherished above all else. Her home was a sanctuary filled with laughter, joy, fragrant cooking—especially her cherished tamales—and heartfelt gatherings that created memories to treasure for generations. She delighted in the simple joys of life, from coloring books and puzzles to crafting, always finding happiness in sharing these moments with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her playful spirit and creativity were a source of joy & comfort, as was her fashionable presence and encouraging nature.
More than anything, Luisa was a woman of deep faith. Her daily dedication to reading the Bible and fervent prayers defined her legacy as a prayer warrior who lifted her family and the nation in heartfelt supplication. Even in times of illness, she remained a beacon of joy and laughter, lifting the spirits of those around her with stories of the past and her infectious smile. Her parting words - “I love you and God Bless”- were a testament to the love and blessings she carried and generously shared throughout her life.
Luisa was preceded in death by her father, Martin Martinez and her mother, Luisa Rodriguez; her beloved husband, Paul Castaneda who left this world in 1985, and her ten brothers and sisters. As the last surviving sibling, she carried their memories lovingly in her heart; and we find comfort today knowing that she is now enjoying their sweet embrace in blessed reunion.
Luisa is survived by her four devoted daughters: Alicia San Miguel, Belia Gonzalez and husband Vince, Mandy Castaneda and husband David, and Narcy Stokes and husband Bobby. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren: Michael, Anthony, Erick, Natalie, and Jackie, as well as her great-grandchildren: Ariana, Abigail, Evan, and Clark, who will forever carry the light of her love and faith within them; along with many other relatives and countless friends.
A visitation will be held at Houston Memorial Chapel, located at 14503 Bammel North Houston Road (Suite 405) in Houston, Texas 77014, on June 17th, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. This will be followed by a funeral service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and a memorial gathering and reception until 4:00 p.m., where family and friends will come together to honor and celebrate her beautiful life.
Luisa was a radiant light in all our lives—a joyous soul who showed us the power of love, faith, and prayer. Though she has departed this world, her unyielding spirit and prayers will continue to shine over us, guiding our steps ahead, and comforting our hearts. Her memory is a treasured blessing, one that will forever echo in the love she shared and the lives she touched as we take her in the memories with us.... until we meet again!
