LOUIS ALLEN NICHOLSON, son of Louis W. Nicholson, Jr. and Mary Ann Hassell, was born on December 26, 1962 in Pasadena, Texas. Allen participated in the usual activities as he was growing up. He was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church, was a Cub Scout and Boy Scout, played little league T-Ball and baseball. He was very good in baseball. He was a charter member of the Sons of the American Legion at Post 521.
As an adult, Allen was a first-rate carpenter but worked most of his adulthood in the plants as a pipefitter. On July 5, 1986 he married Melinda Leonard in Thibodaux, LA. Or as Allen called “Tippy toes”. They produced 3 sons; A.J. (Allen Jr.), Robert and Andrew Nicholson. He was very proud of his boys but he would like to have had a little girl. Andrew was murdered in 2012 and Allen never really got over that loss. We believe that he is now with Andrew and that they are at peace.
Allen is survived by the love of life Shirley Disch (Pickles), his sons AJ Nicholson and Robert and wife Jessica Nicholson, his mother Ann Nicholson, brother Anthony and wife Karie Nicholson, sister Gwynn Nicholson; Chrissy and Eric Howard, Nichole and Chris Coxie and Nada Chadwick. His grandchildren Owen, Cameron, Trevor, Grant and Sunni. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins
Allen is proceeded in death by his son Andrew Nicholson, father Louis Nicholson, Jr. his grandparents Mary and Melvin Powell, Louis Sr. and Bessie Nicholson.
We will hold a Celebration Of Life for Allen at American Legion Post 521, 2221 Preston Road, Pasadena, Texas at a time and date to be announced. It will be a ‘come and go’ event and food will be served.
There will not be a funeral service nor cemetery so no flowers are needed. If you wish to make a donation, do so to the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 521, P. O. Box 5362, Pasadena, TX 77508 or Zelle (alatx521@gmail.com). Please designate to the American Heart Association or the ALA Cancer Research Fund.
