Lennon “Troy” Goffney, born May 15, 1969, in Houston, Texas, passed away on August 25, 2026.

He expressed himself through creativity and sound, and he carried that same love into everyday life through singing.

Troy will be remembered for his love of music, which was both a passion and a calling in his life. As a music writer, he expressed himself through creativity and sound, and he carried that same love into everyday life through singing and a deep appreciation for music. He was also known for his lively spirit and sense of humor. Troy could make people laugh, and he loved to joke, bringing lightness and warmth to those around him.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Octavious Goffney, Christian Goffney, and Keshanna Arceneaux, along with Keshanna’s three children and a host of nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his siblings: his sisters, Detria Goffney and Rosella Gadison, and his brothers, Rodney Guidry, Christopher Goffney, and Ezar Goffney. In their hearts, and in the hearts of all who knew him, his memory will continue through the laughter he inspired and the music he loved.

Troy was preceded in death by his mother, Octavia Guidry; his sister, Tamica Goffney; and his nephews, Dalyun Teat, Desmond Stephens, and Nickolas Esene. Their memories remain a lasting part of his family’s story, and Troy now rests among those who went before him.

A memorial service for Lennon “Troy” Goffney will be held on September 4, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Just Cremation Texas - Houston Chapel, 14503 Bammel North Houston Rd Suite 405, Houston, TX 77014. A reception will follow at the same location from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
