Obituary

Kristen Hailey Spears, 28, passed from this life on September 4, 2026 at her home, after a lifetime of remarkable courage, profound love, and fierce resilience.

Born on June 5, 1998 in Houston, Kristen spent her life demonstrating what it truly means to love unconditionally and fight bravely. For many years, she dedicated herself to a quiet, heroic battle against SLE Lupus, Antiphospholipid Syndrome (APS), and Evans Syndrome. She fought these complex conditions with every ounce of her being, driven by a single, powerful purpose: to love, protect, and teach her beloved son everything she knew before God called her home. To Kristen, her son David was her entire world; she loved him more than life itself. She also leaves behind her fiancé, Elijah Gomez, with whom she looked forward to building a beautiful future and marrying next year.

Kristen’s heart was defined by an extraordinary generosity that showed itself early in life. As a toddler of just two years old, she selflessly insisted that Santa give all of her Christmas toys to children who had nothing, asking only to keep her favorite bunny. That pure, giving spirit stayed with her always, as she continually found ways to lift up and help those around her.

Kristen is survived by her loving mother, Kimberly Spears; her cherished, beloved son, David Wayne Bolf; his father, Brent Bolf; her little brother, Robert "BUBA" Spears; her big sister, DeAndra "SISSY" Frausto; her brother-in-law, Alex Frusto; her nieces and nephew: Delilah, Danica, Jameson, Darla, Dakota, Delina, and Delia Frausto; grandparents, James and Sandra Weaver; great grandmother, Ouida Weaver; grandparents, Julio Zavala Sr and Maria Zavala; aunt, Ashley Weaver Titus; uncle, Billy Titus; uncle, Rusty Weaver; aunt, Juevette Weaver; cousin, Jennifer Lewis Spears Medina; cousin, Joshua Lewis Spears Medina; and her devoted fiancé, Elijah Gomez.

She was preceded in death by her beloved father, Robert Travis Spears; mama, Vera Spears; uncle, Billy Spears; grandfather, Walter Weaver; uncle, Ronnie Mckelvey; mom-in-law, Yvonne Zavala; uncle, Pat Yates; aunt, Patsy Hammond; step-dad, Blair Stupid Simpson; cousins: Whitney Hammond, Jason Zavala, and Kevin Linares Michael Zavala; along with many others who welcomed her into eternal rest and now enjoying their long awaited family reunion.

Kristen’s legacy of love, sacrifice, and ultimate strength will live on forever in the hearts of her family and everyone who was blessed to know her. Keep us in your prayers as we continue writing the pages of our own story while we navigate through this journey of grief losing OUR beautiful Kristen.

We want to thank everyone for all the comfort and care you have given during this difficult time in our lives, and we thank you in advance for all your continued support in the months ahead, your kindness means so much.
