Kimberly Ann Maxwell

Nov 21, 1957 — Jul 7, 2026

Houston, Texas

Kimberly Ann Maxwell, affectionately known as “Tootie,” passed away on July 7, 2026, in Houston, Texas, at the age of 68. Born on November 21, 1957, in Beaumont, Texas, Kimberly’s journey through life was one marked by vibrancy, resilience, and an unwavering sense of wonder.

From her earliest days, Kimberly lived by her own rules, a true free spirit whose laughter often filled the rooms she entered and whose warmth reached those lucky enough to know her. Her boundless curiosity about the world and steadfast desire to embrace every possible experience made her life an inspiring example of perseverance and openheartedness. Whether exploring new adventures or simply soaking in the joys of a quiet afternoon, Kimberly always believed there was more to see, more to feel, and more to discover.

To family and friends, Kimberly was best summed up as someone who lived and loved fiercely. She loved her family deeply and despite enduring heartbreaking loss—including the deaths of her beloved son, Jason Wood, as well as her father, Bobby Maxwell, and mother, Carroll Maxwell—she faced each adversity with courage and a determination to keep living her best life. Each challenge became a testament to her inner strength and her enduring capacity for love.

Kimberly’s spirit lives on through her adoring grandchildren, Kenadie Pugh and Kooper Pugh, who carry forward the legacy of her joy and zest for life. Her brother, Greg Maxwell, also survives her, holding the memories they created together close to his heart. To them, as well as to all whose lives she touched, Kimberly’s memory will remain a guiding light—an example of how to love freely, live courageously, and dance through life to the beat of one’s own drum.

Kimberly was also a devoted dog lover, finding companionship and boundless joy in the animals she cared for over the years. Her kindness and playful spirit left indelible marks on everyone she encountered. Those memories will continue to comfort her loved ones as they remember the unique presence she brought wherever she went. Tootie will be forever loved, missed, and remembered as we continue to write the pages of our own stories but not without her, we will take her in the memores with us... until we meet again.

Her family and friends are invited to honor Kimberly’s life at a Visitation on August 5, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life from 11:00 a.m. to noon. Both gatherings will be held at Houston Memorial Chapel, 14503 Bammel North Houston Road, Houston, TX 77014. These occasions will be opportunities not just to mourn her passing, but to celebrate the irrepressible life of a woman who truly made the world a brighter, more joyful place one adventure at a time.
