John Daniel Robinson, a cherished truck driver and dedicated supervisor at the Eagle Chemical plant in Mobile, Alabama, passed away on August 4, 2025, at Peaceful Living Home in Rosenburg, Texas. He was born on August 21, 1935, in Varnado, Louisiana, to the late Myles Robinson and the late Bessie Sam Robinson.
Educated in the Washington Parish Public School System, Mr. Robinson devoted his life to hard work and his family. Known for his fondness for the ladies and a deep appreciation of music, particularly Blues and Gospel, he relished every moment spent in the company of family and friends. His hobbies included listening to music and watching television, activities that often brought him joy.
Mr. Robinson was the third son of four children; he was preceded in death by his brothers, Myles Robinson Jr., Elijah Robinson, and Leroy Robinson, as well as his grandson, Timothy Russell Jr. He is survived by two daughters, Ms. Barbara Robinson of Houston, Texas, and Ms. Sharon Robinson-Harris of New Orleans, Louisiana. Mr. Robinson also leaves behind his stepson, Mr. Charles Johnson of Dallas, Texas; his goddaughter, Mrs. Mary Duckworth of Mobile, Alabama; and close family friend Mr. Ellis Rideaux of Houston, Texas.
His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Ms. Keyshia Lewis, Ms. Tonya Russell, and Mr. Theodore Robinson, along with an array of great-grandchildren including Ja'net, Jarrell, Walter III, Kyron, Roc, Amari, Nova, and Doodie, as well as his great-great-grandson, Jordan Jr.
John Daniel Robinson will be remembered not only for his professional accomplishments but also for the love and laughter he shared with those close to him. His presence will be sorely missed but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.
