Jo Lynne Fleming, 72, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully at home in her sleep on February 28, 2026. Born to William and Tommie Nix, Jo Lynne lived a life centered on faith, love, laughter, and the people who meant the most to her.

She was a devoted wife to her husband, Gary Lynn Fleming, and a proud and loving mother to Stacy Gates, Justin Fleming, and Laura Checkles. Nothing brought Jo Lynne greater joy than her family, especially her grandchildren: Jake Gates, Hunter Gates, Jeremiah Fleming, Jane Fleming, Jubilee Fleming, Joan Fleming, and the soon-to-arrive Leonidas Checkles.

Jo Lynne cherished life’s simple and meaningful moments. She loved spending time with family and friends, attending art festivals, enjoying time on the golf course, and never missing Thursday night bingo. One of her favorite pastimes was taking train rides through the Texas Hill Country, where she could relax and enjoy the beauty around her.

Jo Lynne will be remembered for her warmth, her laughter, and the deep love she shared with everyone around her. Her presence brought comfort, joy, and connection to her family and friends, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
