Jeri Lynn Shands

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jeri Lynn Wagner, a beloved mother, sister, and friend who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at the age of 55.

Jeri was born in Port Huron, Michigan, on May 31, 1971, to Gary and Nancy Kercher. She grew up in Port Huron with her siblings, Jon, Jody, and Todd. She graduated high school In 1989 and later made her home in Texas to be closer to her siblings who had previously settled there.

Jeri was preceded in death by her husband Blaine Wagner; her father, Gary Kercher; her mother, Nancy Heisler; and her stepfather, Bill Heisler.

Jeri will be lovingly remembered by her son, Ryan (Noah) Shands, who was the light of her life.

She is also survived by her devoted brother Jon Kercher, and his wife, Lori Lively; her sister Jody Newhouse, and her husband, Gary Harrison; and her brother Todd Kercher; and her nieces, Valerie Johnston, and her husband Daniel; Alie Newhouse; Jennifer Newhouse; and her great niece, Rainn Johnston.

Jeri will be deeply missed by her family and friends, and all who knew and loved her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to share in her life.

2 Corinthians 3:17-18 states that:

“The Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom and ongoing transformation into Christ’s likeness.”
