James Timothy Keogh

January 6, 1939 — October 26, 2025

James Timothy “Tim” Keogh, 86, of Mont Belvieu, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in El Paso, Texas, on January 6, 1939, Tim lived a life defined by service, dedication, and love for his family. After graduating high school, he proudly joined the United States Navy, where he served for 20 years and retired with distinction at the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer. His time in the Navy instilled in him a deep sense of discipline, loyalty, and honor that guided him throughout his life.

Following his military career, Tim began a second profession as an Instrumentation Technician for Chevron (formerly Gulf) at the Cedar Bayou Chemical Plant in Baytown, Texas. He was respected by his colleagues for his technical expertise, strong work ethic, and steady leadership.

Tim married the love of his life, Phyllis, in 1963, and together they shared nearly 62 years of marriage filled with laughter, adventure, and unwavering devotion. He was a proud and caring father to Jim Keogh and Jeanne Lynne, and a loving grandfather to Tyler Keogh and Victoria Keogh. His family was a great source of happiness, and he enjoyed every moment spent with them.

In his retirement, Tim enjoyed woodworking, reading and puttering around the house. He was also a loyal friend and neighbor who could always be counted on to lend a helping hand. Those who knew him will remember his quiet strength, quick wit, and the example he set through his integrity and kindness.

A small family memorial will be held at a later date to honor and celebrate Tim’s life. Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled Veterans of America in his honor.
