Hannah Coreen Bodden Gray (87) passed away peacefully at 6:00 pm on August 29th 2025 at Mid-Jefferson Extended Care in Beaumont, Texas. Hannah was born in Bonacca, Honduras on the 2nd of December 1937. She was the 3rd child born to Ashley and Rhona Bodden. She grew up on the island as a happy loving child surrounded by her 5 siblings that she loved and adored dearly. Growing up in Bonacca, she worked alongside her mother in the kitchen where she learned to bake and cook delicious island cuisine that many friends have enjoyed over the years in the life she lived.

While growing up in Bonacca, she was loving and friendly with a caring personality. She never met a stranger because every person she met, she saw as a friend. Because of this she was loved and admired by everyone. Hannah had a heart of gold that overflowed with unconditional love. She held no grudge or ill feeling towards anyone because she let it go and let God take care of any hurts or wrong doings done to her. Her faith in God was incredibly strong and guided her always.

As a young woman, she fell in love with and married Gary Connor. Together, they became the parents to 3 precious daughters that she dedicated her life to raising as a single mother after her divorce. Hannah always tried to find ways to work and provide for her children and this at time caused her to be painfully separated from them but, with the support of her mother, she was able to leave them in capable hands and have the peace of mind that they were in good care .

She came to live with her brother Nelson in Nederland, Texas for a time and there, she met Clifford Gray who became her 2nd husband. Soon after they were married, she was able to bring her 3 daughters to the United States. September 1973 was a joyful and blessed day for her and her children to be together again. They made Nederland their home and have been living here ever since.

Hannah was a devote and faithful Christian and a member of the Groves Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was dedicated in her daily devotion and Bible study. She consistently sang praises to Jesus, sometimes in an off key tone, and she would say, “My God knows that I love Him and enjoy singing praises to Him.”

She is preceded in death by both of her husbands, Gary and Clifford; her parents, Ashley and Rhona; her brothers, Edgar, Josecito, Joseph, Nelson, and Emmer; her cousin and brother in spirit, Randolph; and her grandson, Paul Edgar.

Hannah will be deeply mourned by her daughters: Rhona; Jacqueline and her husband, Alan; and Lillian and her husband, Rodney. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Laura and her husband, Jason; Jesse; Joshua and his wife, Misty; and Colleen and her husband, Ivan. Her memory will live on through her great-grandchildren: Jason Jr., Claire, Helen, and baby Madelyn.

She is also survived by her sister, Hilda who loved her dearly; her sister, Eulene; and her sister-in-law, Ellen. Hannah will be fondly remembered by a large circle of nieces, nephews, and dear friends whose lives she touched.

Hannah, your love and memories will live in our hearts forever. If she could speak to us here today, she would say, “ my dear family and friends that are here to honor my memory, will you prepare yourself to join me in heaven when Jesus comes so that when I meet you, you will thrill my soul by telling me, “it was you who invited me here “.

God bless you until we meet again
