Et Sompong Dooley, 63, passed away on February 11, 2026, in Houston, Texas.
Born on May 26, 1962, in Thailand, Et lived a life defined by resilience, love, and generosity. He was a man with a kind and welcoming heart who never met a stranger. Et had a deep love for cooking and found joy in caring for others, often bringing family and friends together around a meal. Being surrounded by loved ones was where he felt most at home.
Family meant everything to Et. He is survived by his three sisters, Kimberly Briscoe and her husband Jimmy Briscoe, Rocki Fisher and her husband Jake Fisher, and Cindy Smith and her late husband Greg Smith; his mother, Jan Dooley; his daughter, Paris Roque and her husband Gianfranco Roque; his son, Alex Dooley and his wife, Jenna Dooley. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Kalie, Chase, AryaLynn, Julian, and Gabriella. who were truly the light of his life and the motivation that kept him going each day.
Even after a life-changing accident 18 years ago, Et continued to live with strength, courage, and an unwavering positive attitude. He embraced life fully, demonstrating remarkable perseverance and character. His resilience inspired those around him and reflected the depth of his spirit.
Et will be remembered for his warmth, his strength, and the love he gave so freely. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished and the countless lives he touched. He is now resting with his late father, Gary Lynn Dooley and his late brother in law, Greg Smith.
