Donna Norwood, born on November 19, 1967, entered eternal rest on February 7, 2026. A cherished mother, sister, and friend, Donna was known for her vibrant spirit and her remarkable ability to connect with those around her. She enjoyed a fulfilling career within the North Forest ISD, Klein ISD, and Whataburger, where she touched the lives of many through her dedication and passion.
Donna was proud of her educational journey, beginning at MD Smiley High School. Our mother was more than the woman who raised us — she was our foundation.
Her love was fierce, steady, and unconditional. She carried more than we’ll ever fully understand, yet she made sure we never felt the weight of it. She protected us, prayed for us, and believed in us even when we struggled to believe in ourselves.
She was strength in human form.
She was grace under pressure.
She was love without limits.
Her absence leaves a silence that echoes through our lives, but her spirit lives on in the way we stand tall, the way we love deeply, and the way we refuse to give up.
We didn’t just lose a mother.
We lost our anchor.
And we will carry you with me — in my blood, in my bones, forever.
Rest easy, Queen. Love you
Donna had a deep love for cooking, cleaning, and gardening, all of which provided her immense joy and a sense of purpose. Her legacy is enriched with fond memories, encapsulated beautifully in the tribute penned in her honor, which conveys the profound love and connection she shared with those she left behind.
While her physical presence will be sorely missed, her spirit lives on in the hearts of her loved ones. She is remembered by her parents, Bobbie Jean Norwood and Jesse Ray Norwood; her children, Geneva Greens, Cedrick Norwood, and Derrick Charlotte; her beloved grandchildren, Skylar, Lex, Zo, and Journee; and her siblings, Graylen Norwood, Joelinda Norwood, Garey Norwood, Broderick Norwood, Lisa Hardwell, and Tammy Norwood. Additionally, she leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, including Sheandrea Green and her three children, Anthony Howard and his four children, Tamika Norwood, Edwin Norwood and his four children, Joe Norwood and his four children, Junior Hardwell and his son, and Damion Hardwell.
Donna will also be missed by those who have gone before her, including her parents, Bobbie Jean Norwood and Jesse Ray Norwood, and her brothers, Broderick Norwood and Fedrick Norwood and Rosa Norwood niece
A memorial service will be held in her honor on February 20, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Houston Memorial Chapel, located at 14503 Bammel North Houston Road, Houston, TX 77014.
