It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dirk Browning, a beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather, who left this world on September 9, 2025, at his home. Born on August 1, 1956, in Dallas, Texas, Dirk lit up the lives of all who had the privilege to know him.
A dedicated journeyman lineman, Dirk was renowned for his unwavering work ethic and commitment to his craft. His hands were both strong and gentle, capable of intricate work yet tender in nature, reflecting a man who was equally at home with tools and family alike. The connections he forged with the people he worked alongside mirrored the strong bonds he maintained with his loved ones, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and devotion.
Dirk’s greatest pride was found in his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Ann Browning, whose love and support were a constant source of strength throughout their years together. He cherished his children, son Clint Browning and daughter Heather Browning Forman, with a heart full of love. Dirk found immense joy in being a grandfather to Jacob, Chase and Zoey Kellar, and Dylan Forman, as well as a great-grandfather to the sweet Grayson Kellar. His grandchildren brought him immeasurable delight, and he treasured each moment spent with them, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Dirk also leaves behind his cherished sisters, Pam McDaniel and Roxanne Isabel, and brother, Craig Browning, along with many loving nieces and nephews. His close family ties and devoted friendships underscored the warmth and kindness that defined Dirk.
Though Dirk is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Jane Browning; father, Wallace Browning; sister, Robbie Marriott; and brother, Duane Browning, he will forever be remembered for the love he shared and the light he brought into the lives of so many. He embraced life with a spirit that was infectious, touching the hearts of all around him.
As we celebrate his life, we remember Dirk Browning not only for his accomplishments and skills but for his kindness, laughter, and the love he radiated. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family, who will carry forward the lessons of love and strength he instilled in them. Dirk will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
