Daniel Ray Berry

September 19, 1974 — September 1, 2025

Daniel Ray Berry went back home to be with his Heavenly father on September 1st,2025. He is healed, no longer in pain, cancer free, and at peace in the arms of Jesus.

On a rainy September morning in Lubbock, Texas, a precious baby was born to Stanley and Karen Berry. He was named after both his great grandfather and grandfather. During his childhood years he went by Danny Ray. That was until he felt that he was too grown to be called that and choose to be called Daniel. (fourth grade) This was about the same time that he decided he was grown enough to order a T-Bone steak at the local steakhouse. However, when his steak was brought to the table, he asked his mother to cut it up for him. He was a bit spoiled as he was, the 1st child after all. His mother response was “son if you are man enough to order a steak than you are man enough to cut it up.” Daniel has been cutting his steaks on his own since this day.

Daniel was the first born of 6 children. His formal education began in Avinger, Texas. Later in his life he moved to Durango, Colorado where he finished his formal education. When he was 19 years he and his family moved back to Lubbock, Texas alongside his grandfather.

Daniel married his first wife in Lubbock, Texas and became a chosen father of her sons Leeland and Marshall. In the years to come Daniel and his wife welcomed a precious baby boy named Austin. Austin is the apple of Daniel’s eye. Shortly after they also welcomed their dad’s little princess, Megan.

After a few years Daniel and his growing family relocated to South Dakota. Where Daniel worked for Budweiser Brewery. He also worked in construction for Heiman Construction and partnered with Terry Stewart driving haul trucks. Later Daniel relocated to the Houston, Texas area where he worked as a dump truck operator. After working as a dump truck operator, he decided to follow in his father’s footsteps and became a train conductor for Union Pacific Railroad. He would later decide to further his career with the railroad to become a locomotive engineer, as his father did before him. Not only did Daniel excel as a conductor/engineer for the railroad, on his days off he continued to learn numerous trades. He was a jack of all trades. Daniel would always come to the aid of family and friends to help with the repairs needed. A blessing he was too many. Daniel could accomplish anything he set his mind to.

Daniel’s first marriage had ended a few years back, and he began a new journey in his life, where he became a chosen dad to his Daughter Jacey Lane, who looked up to him and loved him with all her heart. His love for Jacey was everlasting.
