Courtney Alan Houston, born on February 14, 1989 in Houston, Texas, passed away on December 11, 2025, leaving behind a legacy grounded in love and laughter. Known for his beautiful spirit and generous heart, Courtney was a cherished member of his family and a valued employee at Compass Group, where he worked at the Toyota Center. His colleagues remember him not only for his dedication and professionalism but also for his ability to brighten the workplace with his humor and kindness.
Courtney's personality was a reflection of his loving nature; he often went out of his way to support those he cared about, demonstrating a selflessness that resonated deeply with everyone who knew him. His son, Jordan Houston, was his pride and joy, and Courtney's fondest accomplishment was being a father. His love for Jordan enriched his life immeasurably, providing a source of joy and motivation in all that he did.
A sports enthusiast, Courtney had a particular passion for the Rockets, which brought him enjoyment and camaraderie with friends and family alike. These interests punctuated his life and served as a testament to his vibrant spirit.
He is survived by his beloved son, Jordan Houston ; his sister Chris Smith; and his brother, Christopher Rodriguez and girlfriend Mya. They will forever hold dear their memories of Courtney’s laughter and love.
Courtney is preceded in death by his mother, Raquel Rodriguez; his father, Willie Smith; his grandmothers, Cristella Rodriguez and Onie Cartwright; and his grandfather, Fidencio Rodriguez. The memorial service honoring Courtney’s life will take place on January 12, 2026, at Houston Memorial Chapel, located at 14503 Bammel North Houston Road, Houston, TX, beginning at noon and concluding at 2:00 PM. This gathering will be an opportunity for family, friends, and colleagues to celebrate Courtney’s life and the indelible mark he made on all who knew him.
