Charles Evans Williams

Jul 15, 1949 — May 30, 2026

Born on July 15, 1949, Charles Evans Williams was born the cherished son of Emmett Jackson and Mammy Williams. Charles, who became known to many of his childhood friends as "Man," was raised in West Monroe, Louisiana.

He was a man of Christian faith who believed in God. His faith was a central part of his life that guided him through his journey.

He was the beloved husband of Gloria Williams, the love of his life, whom he married on June 20, 1970. Together, they shared 55 years of marriage, building a beautiful life rooted in deep love, family, and cherished memories. To that union, a son was born, Derrick (Rhonda). They also welcomed sisters, Chrystal and Tamekia, into their loving family union.

For many years, he provided faithfully for his household through his skilled work as a machinist, where his work ethic, precision, & reliability earned him the highest respect of his colleagues. Beyond his professional life, Charles was a steady pillar of strength in his community, serving as a father figure, a wise mentor, and a loyal, dependable friend to many who could always count on him for support and good company.

Charles was a true talker—full of life, vibrant energy, and contagious spirit that drew people to him. Those who knew him best will always remember his colorful, larger-than-life personality. He was a natural jokester who loved a good laugh and brought a smile to everyone's face. A straight-shooter who valued honesty, Charles was someone you could always count on to tell it like it is, and his family loved and respected him deeply for his genuine nature.

He lived life to the fullest through the hobbies he loved. Charles was an avid bowler, spending countless hours at the lanes rolling in various leagues alongside family and friends. He loved the water, whether he had a fishing rod in his hand waiting for a bite, or was cruising the open seas surrounded by family and friends. On land, he could be found slamming dominoes down during a lively game or making sure his favorite Ford pickup trucks were flawlessly maintained and running smoothly.

Above all else, Charles was his family's biggest fan, always there to celebrate their milestones. He spent years passionately cheering on his son, Derrick, from the football stands through high school and college. He proudly kept that tradition alive for his grandson, JhorDon, during his high school games, and never missed a chance to enjoy his granddaughter Zoe's choir concerts. His dedication to his family knew no bounds. He was a good man, a dedicated worker, a protective mentor, and a deeply loved patriarch who will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in everlasting peace in the arms of his Heavenly Father until we meet again.

Charles was preceded in death by his loved ones who passed before him, including Emmett Jackson (Father), Mammy Williams (Mother), Mammy Louise Williams (Sister), and Joseph Williams (Brother).

His memory will be forever cherished by his loving wife, Gloria Williams; his children, Derrick (Rhonda) Williams, Chrystal, and Tamekia; his grandchildren, JhorDon Williams (Jenelle) and Zoe Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and close friends.
