Charles Lescale Spooner

Oct 23, 1961 — Jun 2, 2026

Charles "Leck Spooner, 64, of Houston, TX passed away after a brief illness on June 2, 2026. He left behind a large, loving family and many loyal friends.

Born on Monday, October 23, 1961 in the Canary Islands, Spain to Robert Spooner and Estelle Smith Spooner, Leck grew up in Houston. He graduated from Northbrook Senior High School and after deciding to further his education, he earned a BS in Computer Technology from the University of Houston.

Trained as an electrical engineer, Leck worked for a number of electronics firms early in his career. He spent his later years in the custom electronic signage industry and was known for his strong work ethic and exemplary teamwork skills.

Beyond his work life, Leck loved sports of all kinds, and passionately supported the Rockets, Texans, and Astros. He was a gentle soul, but witty and quick-minded, and always ready with a sarcastic retort. Even more so, Leck will be remembered as generous, caring, and deeply kind, as well as a trusted friend who could always be counted on to be there when needed.

Leck is survived by his sisters, Shirley Belk and Kitty Bridges; his brother-in-law, Sean Smith; his nephew, Marc Pappa; his nieces: Christina Long, Lora Cody, and Alaana Panu; nine great nieces and nephews; four great grandnieces and nephews; as well as other relatives and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a nephew, David Pappa.

"A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity." (Proverbs 17:17)

Leck was a man with a servants heart in all the best ways. He was the kind of friend and brother anyone would be proud to have on their team. "Leck, you will be dearly missed as we take you in the memories with us and continue to write the pages of our own story... till we meet again. Your heart is a reflection of the kind of love Jesus has for humanity. A heart we will forever love."
