Bernice Jackson, beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, departed this life on June 18, 2026, in Cypress, Texas. Born in Mobile, Alabama on May 16, 1947, Bernice touched the lives of those around her with warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion through 79 remarkable years, where her legacy will remain firmly rooted in the hearts of those who loved her.
Throughout her life, Bernice was a steadfast presence—someone her family could always turn to for wisdom, gentle guidance, and unconditional love. She enjoyed staying up to date with her favorite TV shows, especially westerns, and loved making memories with loved ones, memories that are now the gifts she leaves behind for those to carry with them as they continue writing the pages of their own story.
Bernice loved without limits, gave without hesitation and found joy in caring for others believing that even the smallest act of kindness could make a difference. Her dedication to family shone brightest in every role she embraced— loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and devoted friend. Her life was shaped by resilience and compassion—virtues nurtured in the embrace of family.
Bernice is survived by her daughters, Delois Jackson and Keyna Jackson-Bromery, and son-in-law, Robert, whose lives carry forward her spirit, where her unfailing love continues to guide and uplift. Her legacy also lives on in her grandchildren: Nylexsia Jackson, Cornelius Jackson, Camyron Clay, Carmen Clay, Courtland Clay, and Klarity Coleman, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy, and who she inspired with her gentle strength and loving heart. Her love for her children and grandchildren was endless, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
Bernice’s circle of love is also extended and fondly remembered by her immediate family, Jimmy Tanksley, Sally Floyd, Fannie and James Roy Campbell, Beverly and George Nelson, Anthony and Diane Tanksley, Angela and Asken Stallworth, as well as many other relatives and countless friends who also held a special place in Bernice’s life.
While her passing leaves a profound void, Bernice’s memory is cherished alongside those who preceded her in death: her mother, Evelyn Tanksley, and her brothers, Jimmy Tanksley and Bert Tanksley Jr. And amidst this great loss, we find comfort today believing Bernice is now joyfully enjoying their heavenly family reunion.
