Benino Guerrero Sr., age 84, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born in 1942 in Los Fresnos, Texas to Felipe Guerrero and Clara Delosantos, Benino’s life was defined by an unyielding work ethic and an unbreakable spirit. Though impacted by polio at a young age, he never allowed it to slow him down or limit his ambitions. Instead, he channeled his determination into building a career, opening a successful business where he spent 50 dedicated years servicing appliances and helping his community.
Benino raised his family in New Deal, Texas, providing a foundation of love, strength, and resilience. Once his children grown and left the nest, he embraced a life of travel, crisscrossing the Lone Star State to visit a vast network of family and lifelong friends. Among all his travels, his absolute favorite destination was Port Isabel, where he loved spending time with his sister and her family by the coast.
In his 84 years, Benino was profoundly blessed by a massive, ever-growing family tree. He leaves behind a legacy of 7 children, 31 grandchildren, and 62 great-grandchildren—all of whom carry forward his strength and vibrant spirit.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rosie Medrano; his parents, Felipe Guerrero and Clara Delosantos; his brothers, Felipe Guerrero, Juan Jose Rivera, and Adolpho Rivera; his sister Maria Elena Quintanilla; and his daughter, Patricia Moreno.
His memory and legacy will be cherished and kept alive by his surviving family:
· His Siblings: Alfredo Guerrero, Luis Guerrero, Lupita Guerrero, Ruben Guerrero, Juanita Kitter, and Pilar Rivera.
· His Children: Benino Guerrero Jr.; Mark Guerrero; Benny Guerrero Jr. and wife Veronica Garcia; Leroy Guerrero and girlfriend Victoria; Alice Cantu and boyfriend Chris; and Stephanie Guerrero and husband Martin Salazar.
· His Stepdaughter: Jill Garcia and husband Joe.
Services to celebrate Benino’s remarkable life and enduring legacy are currently being planned for 27 June 2026 in Lubbock, Texas.
