Amber Celeste Ratisseau

October 15, 1964 — August 19, 2025

Galveston, Texas

Amber Celeste Ratisseau passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025, in Galveston, Texas, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

Amber was preceded in death by her parents, Carol Ann and Roger Anthony Ratisseau of Deer Park, Texas. She is survived by her brother, Steven Ratisseau of Deer Park, Texas; her sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer Ratisseau- Solis and Ruben Solis of Pasadena, TX; and her beloved nieces, Lylian Ratisseau of Austin, Texas and Maleah Ratisseau-Murray of Pasadena, TX.

Amber was a graduate of Deer Park High School. Shortly after graduation, she relocated to Houston, Texas, where she worked in the legal field and pursued her passion for photography as a professional photographer. Her creative eye and compassionate spirit touched many lives through both her work and her friendships.

In her later years, Amber made her home in Galveston, Texas, where she found peace and purpose. She was deeply interested in genealogy and dedicated much of her time to researching her family's history in Galveston, specifically, during the 1900 storm, uncovering stories and connections that brought her great joy. She also found solace in fishing along the west end of the island, where the Gulf waters and the surrounding beauty served as a quiet tribute to the memories of those who came before her.

Amber will be remembered for her strong values, artistic soul, and enduring strength. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A beachside memorial service will take place on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at sunset, 7:00pm, in Galveston, Texas, on the beach at 16th Street and Seawall Boulevard. Immediately following the service, family and friends are invited to gather across the street at Saltgrass Steakhouse, located at 1502 Seawall Boulevard.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Amber’s memory to the Galveston Historical Foundation, an organization that reflected her passion for history and preservation.
