Aidner Rosa Neves, 76, passed away peacefully at home on October 13, 2026, following a long battle with cancer.
Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Aidner attended Colégio Militar do Rio de Janeiro, forming friendships that would last throughout his lifetime. He later earned a degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio). Aidner dedicated his professional life to the oil and gas industry, where his intelligence, determination, and entrepreneurial spirit opened doors that eventually brought him to Houston, Texas, in 1997. He retired in 2015.
A passionate traveler and lifelong adventurer, Aidner visited an extraordinary 85 countries and fulfilled his goal of visiting all 50 U.S. states in 2021. He had a deep appreciation for the beauty of the world, with Yellowstone National Park, Bryce Canyon, and Idaho Falls holding especially fond places in his memories. His travels were more than destinations on a map; they were opportunities to experience new cultures, create lasting memories, and share the wonders of the world with those he loved.
Throughout his life, Aidner treasured friendship and human connection. He maintained close relationships with friends from his childhood, military school, university years, and professional career. Even after decades apart, reunions during visits to Brazil were filled with laughter, stories, and celebration.
Aidner shared nearly 39 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Gloria. Together, they built a life defined by perseverance, adventure, partnership, and love.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Gloria, his children and grandchildren, and many beloved family members and friends who will carry his memory forward. He was a cherished father and grandfather whose presence will be deeply missed.
Aidner's legacy is not measured only by the countries he visited, the professional accomplishments he achieved, or the miles he traveled, but by the lives he touched, the friendships he nurtured, and the love he shared.
Though his journey on earth has ended, the memories he created will travel with those who loved him forever.
