Adolph R Knebel

Adolph Rudolph Knebel Jr,  91, peacefully passed away on January 3rd, 2026. Adolph was born to Adolph Frank Knebel and Georgia Hofferek Knebel on August 7, 1934 and was raised in Smithville, Texas. 

 He graduated Smithville HS Class of 1953 during which he played football, basketball, baseball and tennis.  Adolph went on to attend the University of Corpus Christi from 1953-1957 on a football scholarship. After college he joined the Army from 1957-1959 and is a proud veteran. 

Adolph will be remembered as a kind and gentle person who was accepting and supportive.  He left positive and lasting impressions on everyone he met.  He was a wonderful role model with admirable values and morals.   

Adolph is survived by his children Kevin Knebel and wife Denise, David Knebel and Jennifer Knebel Sardelich.  He is the proud grandfather to Vanessa,  Ivey (Marcelo),  Ian,  Sydney (Dakota), Jaden, Jaxen (Mallory) Jaren Sr (Oriana) and great grandfather to Jaren Jr and Zane.
