Aaron Brown, Jr. was born on July 22, 1950, in Harris County, Texas, to the late Aaron and Emora Andy Brown. He was the first of five children and, from an early age, carried the quiet strength and leadership that would define his life. Aaron grew up in the historic Houston community of Acres Homes. He departed this earthly life on. January 2nd, 2026.

Aaron attended M. C. Williams School, where he proudly served as an ROTC cadet. He later graduated from M. C. Williams and went on to attend Prairie View A&M University. While at Prairie View, Aaron was a member of the Panthers football team, an experience that reflected his discipline, teamwork, and love for the game. It was also at Prairie View A&M University that he met the love of his life, Delores Crump. Known affectionately on campus as “Puff,” Aaron made lasting friendships and memories during his college years.

January 1975, Aaron joined the US Army for three years. His Primary Specialty was Watercraft Operator and his Secondary Specialty was Food Service Specialist. Aaron was SP4.

Aaron and Delores were united in holy matrimony on May 7, 1975, beginning a lifelong partnership rooted in love and devotion. Together, they welcomed their first and only child, a daughter, Tawana DeRey Brown while Aaron was stationed at Fort Eustis, Virgina.

Following Aaron’s honorable discharge from the military, Aaron and his wife and daughter returned to Houston, Texas, where they made their home. Aaron worked various jobs throughout his life, including truck driving—a career he especially enjoyed for the freedom of the open road.

Aaron was a loving and devoted husband to Delores until her passing, and his commitment to family never wavered. Known by many as a gentle giant, Aaron possessed a calm spirit, a kind heart, and a steady presence that brought comfort to all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Aaron and Emora Andy Brown, and his siblings: Gloria Charles, Sheryl Ann, and Ellis Wayne Brown.

The greatest joys of Aaron’s life were being a loving and caring father to his daughter, Tawana, and a proud grandfather to his three beautiful granddaughters—twins Jordyne Rose and Jaydyne, and Jariah White. His legacy of love, strength, and gentleness lives on through them.

Aaron Brown, Jr. leaves to mourn his beloved daughter, Tawana DeRey Brown, his three cherished granddaughters, who will forever hold him in their hearts, brother in laws, Matthew Crump (Ofelia), Franklyn Crump and Melvin Crump and sister in-law, Barbara (Reginald) Jones, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
